Wetland Plants of Alberta
***IN DEVELOPMENT***
Course Description: this course explores the identification and habitats of key wetland plant species and is structured to complement the Alberta Wetland Policy. Indicator plants species of bogs, fens, marshes, swamps, shallow open water wetlands, and their sub-categories are addressed. Emphasis is placed on vascular plant species, though several key bryophytes (often at the genus level only) are included (over 100 species and genera total). Registrants are expected to have at least basic knowledge of wetlands. Although highly important to wetland science, soil features and hydrology are not the focus of this course.
